Yes! Our products are formulated (by Arlene) and hand made by our team! There is one exception: we teamed up with a fantastic formulator to make our amazing mascara with A’del approved ingredients! It is made in the USA.
Yes, generally they are. All of our color cosmetics are extremely safe and some of the purest on the market. The only question is with the essential oils and pregnancy. (And to be perfectly honest synthetic fragrances can do a lot of harm…And synthetic fragrances are in a lot of so called natural products!)
But I ALWAYS want people to ask their health care providers as many of them have differing opinions on essential oils. Blue tansy would be the only essential oil I would want pregnant women to be cautious with early in the pregnancy. But even with saying that we have had many pregnant women use it with no problem. As mentioned, talk to your health care provider with any questions or concerns you may have.
If your skin is normal to dry or if you have maturing skin purchase the essential set. If your skin is normal to oily with sensitivities and acne purchase blue lagoon set.
We make no guarantees that our products will heal, reduce or prevent stretch marks. That being said, many of our customers have raved about the results they got during pregnancy with our lotion bars and blue lagoon body oil.
When it comes to eczema, we have several amazing options that not only provide relief but also help with healing. Our lotion bars are a customer favorite with countless success stories! (The unscented version is also safe for babies.)
Additionally, our duo balm, Blue Lagoon face balm, and even our diaper cream are fantastic choices. All of these products are versatile and can be used anywhere on the body.
Our loose foundation offers light to full coverage and is recommended for all ages and skin types, particularly beneficial for maturing skin.
Our cream foundation provides light to medium coverage and is suitable for most ages, especially those with balanced skin types. (Our cream foundation doubles as a concealer. tip: many of our customers have reported back after faithfully using our skincare products stating that concealer was no longer necessary!)
Our Moisturizing Foundation offers light to full coverage and is suitable for all skin types and ages! This product is NEW and it comes in a stick for easy application.
We are often asked if oil cleansing actually removes all makeup from the face… Yes! Simply prep the skin with a few sprays of either essential or blue lagoon hydrate. Blend with your fingers, the Chubby Blender brush or the A'del Blender. Moisturizing Foundation Tutorial
Start by prepping your skin with Essential Hydrate and Moisturize (or Blue Lagoon Hydrate and Face Balm). Apply the loose foundation using a jumbo buffer or jumbo flat top brush for a fantastic, glowing finish. Loose foundation tutorial
Begin by prepping your skin with Essential Hydrate and Moisturize (or Blue Lagoon Hydrate and Face Balm). Massage it into your skin. The rose mask is incredibly gentle and ideal for normal to dry skin types. It pairs beautifully with the Essential Line, enhancing its calming and toning effects. While it also works well with the Blue Lagoon Line, its soothing properties make it a great choice for anyone seeking a gentle touch.
On the other hand, the C&C mask is more invigorating, stimulating blood flow to the skin. This makes it particularly beneficial for oily or younger skin, though it can still be suitable for other skin types depending on individual needs.Ultimately, both masks are versatile and can be used with any skin type, so you really can't go wrong with either choice!
While this can vary from person to person, our essential skincare set is known to last anywhere from 6-9 months and Blue Lagoon 4-6 months.
Oil cleansing offers a luxurious and therapeutic way to care for your skin. When used correctly, its benefits are remarkable! Here's how to use it: Massage the cleanser into your skin for 1-2 minutes. The gentle massage helps dissolve makeup and daily grime. The crucial step of steaming your face with a warm washcloth follows: steam your face for at least 1 minute to open pores and release toxins. Once the cloth cools, gently wipe away residue. If makeup or oils remain, repeat the warm cloth step until your face feels clean. This ritual should be relaxing, with aromatherapy benefits from essential oils. For any lingering makeup or oils, continue wiping gently with a warm, wet cloth—consider using a Norwex cloth for best results. Afterward, spray the hydrating mist all over and immediately massage in the face balm. The Hydrate step primes your skin to absorb the nourishing oils in the balm or moisturizer, don't skip it. The entire process takes about 4-5 minutes and makes for a wonderful end-of-day routine! Watch Tutorial Here

We are often asked if our products are non-comedogenic, specifically as it relates to "raw coconut oil" as a common ingredient. Our raw coconut oil is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin. Conventional coconut oil can be comedogenic, however, we use 100% raw, unrefined coconut oil, very different from the coconut oil you will find on the shelf in traditional stores. We avoid any heat processing with our coconut oil so you get the best and most pure version in our products.
When the coconut oil is prepared this way, your skin can truly reap the natural healing properties and benefits. For instance, coconut oil is a natural antioxidant, which helps against free radical damage (otherwise known as premature aging). It’s also known for its high levels of lauric acid and caprylic acid which are antifungal, antibacterial and antimicrobial as well as anti-viral so it won't clog your pores. This makes it a perfect choice for keeping skin clean, healthy and acne-free.
Let me start by saying not all oils are created equal. The seed oils that are controversial are industrialized seed oils. They include (but aren’t exclusive to) soybean oil - the most commonly used, corn oil, cotton seed, oil, safflower oil, canola oil (rapeseed), peanut oil, palm kernel oil, sunflower oil and others. Most of these oils are GMO varieties, are hexane extracted, which is a byproduct of crude oil and are often full of free radical damage due to the high heat needed to extract the oil from the seed. Recent studies shows that it causes damage to cells internally when you eat them and unfortunately, many people are consuming these daily thanks to fast food restaurants and processed foods, including salad dressing, mayo etc.
But what about a sunflower seed oil that is not GMO and is cold pressed on a small farm in Georgia. That’s the exact oil used in A’del Natural Cosmetics. This oil is entirely different. It smells different, it taste different, it has all of the vitamins, minerals, fatty, acids, etc. intact because there has been no heat or chemicals used to extract the oil. It is just simply oil pressed out of the seed. That type of oil has many many benefits not only to the body but also to the skin.
*A’del only uses non GMO, cold pressed seed oils

A'del's Current Stance on
Titanium Dioxide
We completely understand why titanium dioxide can feel confusing, especially because there is so much conflicting information online.
After reviewing available research over many years, as we do with all of our ingredients, our current understanding is that there are 2 primary concerns with titanium dioxide.
1) related to inhalation of fine or nano-sized particles in dust form. The titanium dioxide we use is non-nano, meaning the particle size is larger, so if it is used within a loose powder formulation it cannot penetrate the lungs. There are no airborne risks for cream/liquid or lipstick formulations. Additionally, non-nano titanium dioxide cannot penetrate through the skin barrier.
2) For titanium dioxide used as a food additive, the concern is mainly tied to chronic ingestion of “food grade titanium dioxide”. Some studies on rats have raised questions about a possible link to genotoxicity and “food grade titanium dioxide”. (Food grade titanium dioxide consists of an uncontrolled mixture of particle sizes including nano particles). However, the evidence is still inconclusive, and leaning toward the cause of genotoxicity (DNA strand breakage or chromosomal damage) coming from physiological stressors on the rats, rather than from the titanium dioxide itself. If any damage was seen, the conclusion was that the food grade titanium dioxide would be the secondary cause, not primary. So a clear cause-and-effect relationship has not been firmly established.
We control our titanium dioxide by using non-nano titanium dioxide (not food grade titanium dioxide). This helps create the opacity, coverage, and color performance customers expect in a lipstick, while allowing us to avoid many petroleum-derived dyes and lakes that do not align with our ingredient standards.
There is a lot more that could be said about this but we encourage each person to research for themselves by reading peer review studies, not opinion pieces.
That said, we always take our ingredients and ingredient concerns very seriously. We have been actively exploring possible alternatives as we know some are concerned about this ingredient. We are always researching, learning and desire soft hearts to change our stance, if needed.
At this time, we have not yet found a replacement that meets our expectations for safety, performance, and ingredient integrity, but we are always evaluating new options. If conclusive research comes out confirming that non-nano titanium dioxide is truly toxic to the body for lip products we will remove this ingredient, which would result in no lip products from A’del. We are prepared for that if it comes to it.
We truly appreciate your feedback, and we understand that each customer may come to a different personal conclusion on this ingredient. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to explain our position with transparency.
