I bought A'del's Frosting color of eyeshadow because I needed a new pearly white eye shadow and was eager to try buying from a company whose products are natural and ethical.
The eyeshadow comes in a little tiny jar, and it is literally just loose powder, not a powdery but dense substance packed into the container like most eye shadows. This makes it a little more a challenge to apply. I dip a brush in, tap on the handle of the brush while holding it over the jar so as to knock off loose dust directly into the jar, so as not to lose any of the precious powder. When I apply it to my eyelid, usually there is still way more on the brush than I'd planned, and I end up with clumps of powder falling onto my eyelashes and upper cheeks. Because it is a light, golden color, I can brush it off with no smears and no problem, but I worry about waste. These fears are probably unfounded, as there is quite a lot of powder in the tiny jar and unless I have a major spill, I expect it to last me a long time.
The unusual texture of the eyeshadow is probably due to it being entirely natural ingredients. (There are three, and the only one I recognized was mica, but basically it is just mineral powder.) For that reason, I don't consider the powdery texture to be a liability, just different. I will probably buy other colors from A'del, and I will have to get used to having a different application routine.
I ordered three colors and was a little nervous because I wasn't seeing them in person. Turns out they all are great colors and have been using them daily! Nice packaging.....just wish powder wasn't so messy! Lol
I bought three different shades, cozy grey, sugar plum, and butterscotch. My favorite is the butterscotch. The eyeshadow has such a nice texture. A little goes a long way!
I wish I could return. I believe I'm allergic to eye shadow.
Love the frosting eyeshadow! It glitters and adds brightness so beautifully. I only wish the container was a little more controlled. I have to be very careful that I don't spill it when I open it, because it's just loose powder in a shallow glass container. I have other glitter eyeshadow that is in litter plastic bottles with a thin place for a brush to go into the glitter that prevents spillage kind of like mascara. Other than that, I'm really enjoying the eyeshadow.
